Teen Arrested in Madrid for Murder of Grandfather’s Friend, Mental Health Suspected

A 15-year-old Moroccan minor was arrested in Spain on Wednesday for the murder of a 41-year-old Spanish woman considered the friend of his grandfather with whom he lives in an apartment in the Madrid region.
During his arrest by the Civil Guard, the minor did not admit the facts. For the moment, an investigation has been opened to elucidate this murder. But the hypotheses lean towards a mental disorder of the young man who would not have appreciated the good relationship between Sonia, the Spanish victim, and his 64-year-old grandfather.

The grandfather denied having a romantic relationship with the victim and said he had only helped her by housing her at his home for two months. During this period, the victim spent the night in his room, the only one upstairs, while the accused and his 13-year-old younger brother slept on the sofa, reports ABC.
The young man used the cable of an iron to strangle the woman who was lying in the bathtub. He committed his crime while his brother was at school and his grandfather at work. He then fled, before being found two hours later. Presented to the juvenile judge, he was placed in custody in a specialized center.
