Spanish Police Arrest Four Suspects in Murder of Former Councilor and Hemp Producer

The Spanish Civil Guard has arrested four individuals, including two Moroccans, as alleged perpetrators of the murder of a man and a woman whose lifeless bodies were found on Thursday in Sorvillán (Granada).
The woman, Carmen Jiménez (47 years old), was a councilor for the Popular Party (PP) in Gualchos-Castell between 2015 and 2019. Her husband, José AV (61 years old), was the largest hemp producer in the region, the investigators confirmed to El Cierre Digital.
The investigation was opened on Friday after the Civil Guard was informed of the disappearance of the couple. Their car was found at the Castell de Ferro exit of the A-7 motorway, with traces of blood inside. A few hours later, the agents found the two bodies, half-naked and bearing marks of violence, in a ravine in Sorvillán in Granada.
The bodies were transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for the purposes of the autopsy, which revealed that the victims were not killed with a firearm. For the moment, four individuals have been arrested, including two Moroccans. The investigation is ongoing to elucidate this double murder and new arrests are not excluded, according to the Andalusian government delegate, Pedro Fernández.
