Moroccan-Origin Taxi Driver Fatally Stabbed in Northeastern Spain

A taxi driver of Moroccan origin was killed on the night of Saturday to Sunday in Lleida, in northeastern Spain. The Mossos d’Esquadra have opened an investigation to solve the murder of Mohamed Ezzeraiga.
A passer-by alerted the Mossos to report the presence of a man, seriously injured and unconscious, on the public highway. The victim, aged 43 and of Moroccan origin, was stabbed several times in the neck and back, according to sources close to the case told the Catalan press agency. He was taken to the Arnau de Vilanova hospital in Lleida where he succumbed to his injuries a few hours later.

The Mossos have opened an investigation to find the perpetrator(s) of this murder. The knife used to stab the victim was found in another street in the Bordeta neighborhood, not far from the crime scene. For the moment, the investigators are leaning towards an attempted robbery that went wrong.
