Technician Jailed for Embezzlement and Theft of Dialysis Machines in Morocco

An electrical technician employed at the Al Fath Hemodialysis Association in Midar, in the Al Hoceima region, was sentenced by the Criminal Chamber in charge of financial crimes at the Fez Court of Appeal to one year in prison with a fine of 10,000 dirhams.
According to the daily Assabah, the individual is being prosecuted in a case of embezzlement of funds and illegal sale of two hemodialysis machines belonging to the Association.
The Court also handed down a similar judgment against a water treatment technician, detained in the Bourkaiz prison, on charges of association in the embezzlement of funds and purchase of the two devices.
Regarding the civil action, the Court ordered the defendants to jointly pay the sum of 240,000 dirhams in favor of the Association, in addition to a civil compensation of 10,000 dirhams.
