Former Moroccan MP Sentenced to 2 Years for Corruption and Embezzlement

Two years in prison and a fine of 320,000 dirhams. This is the sentence handed down by the criminal chamber in charge of financial crimes at the Court of Appeal of Fez against Mohamed Semsam, the Provincial Coordinator of the National Rally of Independents (RNI) of Sefrou.
Former MP and President of the commune of Ain Cheggag, Mohamed Semsam was prosecuted for falsifying a report, using a false administrative certificate, abuse of power and embezzlement of public funds. To this was added the illegal transfer of a public land to one of his colleagues, according to Barlamane.com.
The Provincial Coordinator of the National Rally of Independents (RNI) of Sefrou was at the head of the commune of Ain Cheggag for 23 years, the same source recalls.
