Teacher Assaulted While Protecting Student from Thieves in Moroccan City

A teacher was violently assaulted by thieves while trying to assist a student who was having her cell phone stolen. The incident occurred Friday in front of a high school located in Tamesna, 30 km south of Rabat.
Following this assault, the National Federation of Education Sector Officials, affiliated with the National Union of Moroccan Workers (UNTM), expressed its full solidarity with A.S., an Arabic language teacher at the Ahmed El Bouanani high school in Tamesna.
In a statement relayed by alyaoum24, the Federation called on "the competent authorities to intervene to ensure the safety and security of workers in educational institutions and their students".
For the federation, the prefectural police services and the Ministry of Education bear full responsibility for this incident.
