Moroccan Student Jailed for Violent Assault on Math Teacher Outside High School
A student found himself in detention, awaiting to appear before a judge, for having raised his hand against his mathematics teacher. This happened on February 27, in a high school in Taroudant, after the end of classes.
According to judicial sources, the student, now incarcerated, is being prosecuted for "aggravated violence" and should soon appear to answer for his actions.
The teacher was attacked outside the high school, and "was savagely assaulted" by the student who "inflicted several blows to his face and chest", in front of his students, who tried in vain to separate them, indicates barlamane.com.
Alerted by the school administration, the police intervened to assist the teacher. He was taken to the hospital to receive appropriate care. According to the diagnosis made by the attending physician, he would suffer from bruises and contusions, and was prescribed several days of total work incapacity (ITT).
This incident, the "first of its kind" in this establishment, caused "great emotion among colleagues, students and parents".
