Taxi Scam Targets Foreign Tourist at Marrakech Airport, Sparking Complaint

Marrakech is once again the scene of a scam involving a taxi driver. Despite the measures taken by the authorities to fight this phenomenon, tourists continue to be victims of fraud.
A foreign tourist, newly arrived at Marrakech-Menara airport, was charged an excessive amount for a trip to Gueliz. The driver, affiliated with a union, billed her 300 dirhams, a rate much higher than the one in force, reports the local news site kech24.
Faced with this situation, the victim decided to file a complaint.
These events come a week after a German tourist was also the victim of a scam by taxi drivers in the Agadir region. They accused her of having called a driver using the InDrive app.
