Tangier Tourism Soars as Chinese Visitors Double, Overall Arrivals Up 10%

The city of Tangier seems to be attracting foreign tourists again with a substantial increase in the number of arrivals, particularly from China.
According to figures just published by the provincial tourism delegation, the number of overnight stays last year stood at 1,339,828, up 7% compared to 2017, while the number of tourists increased by 10%.
The number of Chinese increased by 105% to reach 25,406 tourists, while during the same period overnight stays increased by 130%, according to the tourism delegation.
The other countries are not left behind with an 8% increase for the Spanish, 9% for the French. The number of Dutch tourists increased by 23%, the British by 13%.
Moroccan tourists still have a lot of confidence in the city of the strait for their holidays with a 10% increase in overnight stays (646,907 against 585,637 in 2017).
To stay in Tangier, visitors opt rather for the four-star, then the five-star, while others have set their sights on tourist residences.
