Tangier Student Murder Case Delayed Again, Mother Seeks Justice

Anouar’s mother, the 20-year-old student found dead in his apartment in the Mesnana neighborhood, continues to demand justice for her son. A new hearing should open at the criminal chamber of the first instance court of the Court of Appeal of Tangier in a few days.
On Tuesday, the criminal chamber of the first instance court of the Court of Appeal of Tangier postponed for the twenty-eighth time the examination of the case of the murder of the student Anouar. The next hearing is set for October 15, 2024. According to the victim’s mother, the public prosecutor’s office has deemed the file ready for the pleadings. It has also ordered that all the witnesses present at the hearing be brought in, with the exception of the sister and uncle of the accused, who are still being sought by the police. The mother of the victim only wishes to see these successive postponements lead to a fair verdict that will ease her pain at the loss of her son Anouar.
In a statement to Alyaoum24, the victim’s mother expressed her displeasure and astonishment at the conduct of the investigation since the beginning of the hearings. She is especially annoyed by the non-appearance of the sister and uncle of the accused. She believes that the 17-year-old girl accused of killing her son could not have acted alone. According to her, it is impossible that she could have committed such a horrible crime alone, since the victim had an athletic physique. To support her argument, she indicated that the recording of the surveillance camera, which shows the accused leaving the building accompanied by two people, is irrefutable proof that other individuals participated in the crime.
Furthermore, the forensic medical report confirmed that the student Anouar was under the influence of a sedative before being killed in a gruesome manner. Without this drug, the accused, or those who helped her, could not have overpowered him, the victim’s mother points out. The court cannot be satisfied with the sole testimony of the one who claimed that the victim was accompanied by someone during the crime, she added. She stated that she will remain determined until her last breath to obtain a fair sentence in this case. She expects the accused to be convicted of premeditated murder, aggravated theft, concealment of objects obtained during the crime, and qualified theft, as well as
