Man Sentenced to 25 Years for Murder of Tangier Shisha Cafe Manager

A man was sentenced to 25 years in prison by the Criminal Chamber of First Instance in Tangier for the murder of a young woman, the manager of a shisha cafe. The events took place last year.
The accused, identified as H.W., had to answer for his actions before the justice system. He was accused of "premeditated murder, outrage to a corpse, concealment of evidence and drug use".
The case began with the macabre discovery of the victim’s body, known as "Fatoum", in a bag abandoned near Gzenaya. Investigators quickly traced the trail back to H.W., arrested in Nador after fleeing.
Before the court, the accused admitted to having killed the young woman, but pleaded unconsciousness, claiming to have been under the influence of cocaine at the time of the events. According to his version, "Fatoum" would have come to his home in the Ennejma neighborhood. Upon waking up, he would have discovered the lifeless body of the young woman, lying in a pool of blood. Panicked, he would have tried to conceal his crime by mutilating the body and abandoning it in the victim’s car before fleeing.
The investigation revealed that H.W. had transported the body near Gzenaya to try to incinerate it. It was the charred remains that were ultimately discovered by a passer-by, putting the investigators on the trail of the murderer. After the arrest of several suspects, it was finally in Nador that H.W. was apprehended by the law enforcement.
