Tangier: Spectacular Dragnet at the Marina with the Seizure of 503 kg of Cannabis
The Tangier port police seized 503 kilograms of cannabis resin on Saturday. Six individuals were arrested during two separate operations carried out on boats moored at the Marina docks.
The first intervention targeted a pleasure boat where four suspects were arrested. Thorough searches, targeting "carefully arranged" hiding places according to a security source, led to the discovery of 327 kilograms of cannabis resin intended for international trafficking.
A second search, carried out on another boat moored in the same perimeter, resulted in the seizure of an additional 176 kilograms. Two people, including the owner of the boat, were apprehended by the law enforcement authorities for their alleged involvement in this network.
The judicial investigation has been entrusted to the Tangier police prefecture service. Under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office, the authorities are now working to determine the full circumstances of the case and to reveal any possible national and international ramifications.
