Tangier Police Arrest Three in Motorcycle Theft and Armed Robbery Ring

Following a complaint from a victim for the theft of his motorcycle by four individuals under the threat of a bladed weapon, the elements of the Prefectural Service of the city of Tangier launched a pursuit of the aggressors.

The intervention resulted in the arrest of three individuals on board a vehicle, according to a press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).

According to the same press release, the investigations revealed that these three defendants are involved in cases of kidnapping, sequestration, ransom demands, drug trafficking, not to mention two other cases of threat that targeted, on Friday, two motorcycles, in the urban perimeter and in the Gueznaya region.

The same source reports that these search operations led to the recovery of the two stolen motorcycles and the seizure of a vehicle with a false registration plate, a tear gas bomb and four swords with which the accused threatened their victims.

Pending the continuation of the investigations to arrest the fourth defendant on the run and to determine all the criminal acts, the three suspects were placed in custody at the disposal of the investigation by the Prefectural Service of the Judicial Police of Tetouan, under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office.
