Tangier Police Arrest 10+ in Crackdown on Violent Crime Wave

A major police operation took place this week in Bir Chiffa, a neighborhood of Tanger. Supervised by the vice-president of the Béni Makada security zone, this intervention follows a series of attacks and violent thefts, the famous "Gressaj".
Videos shared on social media, showing citizens who were victims of these acts, had caused concern and anger among the residents. Faced with this situation, the security forces decided to carry out a large-scale security operation.
The balance sheet of this intervention is significant: more than ten people were arrested. Among them are individuals actively wanted for violent thefts and assaults. The suspects were taken into custody at the police station so that the facts they are accused of can be clarified.
This action is part of a broader desire to strengthen security in areas affected by a rise in crime. The objective: to reassure the population and fight against any feeling of impunity. The local authorities hope to curb the criminal phenomena that disrupt the daily life of the inhabitants.
