Tangier Launches Crackdown on Street Vendors and Homeless

The local authorities of the urban district of Tangier City launched this week a large-scale sweep operation in the streets of the city.
This campaign, led by the city authorities, resulted in the seizure of dozens of unfit and expired products that were being offered for sale. The public domain has also been freed in the Merkala area, where it was being used in an anarchic way by itinerant cafes.
The same sources added that dozens of homeless people and beggars were arrested and transferred to specialized centers for their reintegration.
The operation was supervised by the pasha of the Tangier City area, accompanied by the head of administrative annex no. 3 and members of the auxiliary forces, under the instructions of the wilaya of the Tangier region.
