Tangier Launches Plans for Second Water Park Near Marina to Boost Tourism

A water park for the Port of Tangier-ville. This time, near the marina. The call for expressions of interest for the realization of the project was launched by the Société d’aménagement de l’Environnement portuaire de Tanger-ville (SAPT). It is open to both national and international developers. Leasing or acquiring the land are the options being studied according to the SAPT.
The project is ambitious and aims to offer residents an attractive space for relaxation and entertainment. The land that will host the park covers 12,300 m2. It will include a swimming pool, slides and everything that can make the pride of such an establishment. This second park aims to enhance the equipment of the marina inaugurated in 2018. The port, in its new form, plans to become the heart of the entertainment, in the image of the seaside regions of southern Spain, reports L’Economiste.
Mnar park, the first amusement park in the city, has shown the public’s interest in this type of recreational facilities. Future developers will therefore be able to easily conquer the hearts of national vacationers, in search of new experiences.
With a total construction cost of 635 million dirhams, this project dreams of making the city of Tangier a privileged destination for boating and water sports, thanks, on the one hand, to the creation of a new marina located east of the current port, and, on the other hand, to the reconversion of the old fishing port.
For the SAPT, it is a question of giving a boost to tourism by investing in an attractive field that enhances the potential of the city of Tangier.
The Société de Gestion du Port de Tanger-ville, a subsidiary of the SAPT and the Agence nationale des Ports (ANP), was created to develop the port components of the reconversion project and to manage its facilities. The construction work, which began in May 2011, is now bearing its first fruits. Tanja marina bay international (TMBI), the largest marina in the Kingdom, is at the forefront.
