Luxury Hotel Boom Transforms Tangier and Casablanca Tourism

The cities of Tangier and Casablanca have huge assets to revolutionize luxury tourism. Not to mention the prospects.
Luxury hotels are being built in the two cities. In Casablanca, prestigious brands such as Four Seasons, Sofitel, Hyatt... are impressing tourists. With these brands, the city alone has a capacity of more than 22,000 beds. As for prospects, 12 new hotels, with a capacity of 1,500 rooms, will be opened this year, according to the Casa-Settat tourism delegation, cited by la Vie éco. Similarly, 26 structuring projects are underway in the city. The Grand Théâtre, the Ain Sebaa Zoo, the Arab League Park, the Heritage Interpretation Center in the Medina, the Resistance Museum, the rehabilitated Buenaventura Church and Synagogue in the Medina... are all infrastructures that will change the city’s appearance.
In Tangier, infrastructure development is also accelerating. Major brands are present: Movenpick, Tanja Marina Bay hotel, Al Minzah, Hilton Tanger City Center & residences, Tanger Al Houara Resort & Spa... The W hotel, which is part of the hotel component of the Port of Tangier City, will be built in 2022/2023. The city is also attracting transport companies that are flocking there. The Al Boraq TGV alone transported 2.5 million passengers during the first 10 months of 2019, according to ONCF. As for the Tanja Marina Bay international port, it welcomes yachts of wealthy clients.
At this pace, Casablanca and Tangier will constitute the fertile ground for luxury tourism.
