Morocco to Build $1 Billion Atlantic Port in Dakhla by 2030

As part of the national port strategy for 2030, the Ministry of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water plans to build one of the largest ports in the Kingdom.
Given the scale of the project called "Port Dakhla Atlantique" and the 7 years of work required, a temporary Directorate will be set up to ensure its monitoring and support.
With an estimated investment budget of 10 billion dirhams, the launch of tenders is scheduled before the end of the year. The amounts committed and the duration of the work explain the interest of a temporary special management that will be effective from August 1, 2019 to December 31, 2026.
With two main and secondary breakwaters, a 1500 m deep-sea fishing quay and an 800 m commercial quay, the port plans an annual traffic of 2.2 million tons.
