Tangier Gyms to Reopen Next Week Under Strict COVID-19 Guidelines

Long closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, gyms in Tangier will reopen from next week. The promoters could no longer stand the consequences, including the bankruptcy that threatened many of them if the closure continued.
The decision was made during a meeting between members of the Commission responsible for defending the interests of gym owners and the Internal Affairs Office of the Wilaya of Tangier. According to the daily Al Massae, the reopening of gyms is subject to strict compliance with a specifications document currently being drawn up.
This authorization forces the commission to suspend all sit-ins planned for this week to force the authorities’ hand. According to the newspaper, in recent weeks there have been a series of protests in front of the Wilaya of Tangier. The main objective is the reopening of gyms.
