Agadir Fitness and Spa Businesses Face Bankruptcy as COVID-19 Closures Continue

The promoters and managers of gyms, spas and hammams in Agadir have been severely impacted by the long closure of their establishments ordered by the competent authorities. The recent extensions of the measures decided to fight the spread of the coronavirus by the government and the prefectural committee for epidemiological monitoring and follow-up have dampened the hopes of resuming their activities.
While these two decisions have favored restaurants, authorized to reopen until 8 p.m., they have crushed the owners of gyms, spas and hammams, who have been in the dark for nearly 10 months. These facilities remain closed, like parks and neighborhood sports fields.
The owners want to be informed about their fate and have visibility on their activities. According to the government, these measures were taken based on the recommendations of the Scientific Commission and the epidemiological development.
