Tangier Cracks Down on Illegal Construction: Officials Suspended, Dismissed

The authorities in Tangier have decided to crack down on the increase in illegal constructions. Dozens of authority agents with the rank of "Moqaddem" and "Cheikhs" would have been suspended or dismissed on the basis of worrying reports.
Sources told the newspaper Al3omk that an authority agent with the rank of Moqaddem was suspended by the authorities, while others were brought before the disciplinary council for violating the legislation in force on urban planning.
Cases of violations of urban planning laws were also noted in an administrative annex, under the territorial jurisdiction of Charf-Mghogha, where dozens of houses have been built without authorization over the past two months.
The provincial authorities have decided to refer the report of the commission dispatched to inventory all these shortcomings to the justice system. In addition, an authority agent with the rank of Cheikh was dismissed and others were brought before the disciplinary council.
