Tangier Community Reels from 11-Year-Old Boy's Abduction and Murder

The residents of Tangier will not recover anytime soon from the rape and murder of Adnane, the 11-year-old boy whose life was brutally taken by a sexual predator. In a report, 2M.ma noted the outrage, anger and above all the fear of the residents to know that their children are exposed to danger on every street corner.

In the "Bni Makada" neighborhood in Tangier, there is emotion, consternation and sadness, following the discovery of the lifeless body of an 11-year-old child. Kidnapped, sequestered, raped and killed, he will be cowardly buried, not far from his parents’ home. Went out to buy a product at the pharmacy, he dies in the prime of life leaving parents, relatives and even strangers still in shock of this unprecedented tragedy.

Fortunately, the rapist was apprehended five days after Adnane’s disappearance. Also, his 3 roommates living near the victim’s home were also arrested and taken into custody. The police accuse them of remaining passive after recognizing their friend in the surveillance camera images circulated on social media. According to Abdelkbir Farah, head of the judicial police department of Tangier, the rapist before his arrest tried to confuse the tracks by sending a letter written to the victim’s father demanding a ransom in exchange for the child’s release, while he had already killed and buried him, reports 2M.ma

Whether they are from Tangier or elsewhere, Moroccans are angry in the face of a tragedy of such violence. On the microphone of 2M, many denounced "the murder of such an innocent soul" and say they are hurt by such an act. Mohamed Taieb Bouchiba, the coordinator of the association "Don’t touch my child", points out that they have advocated for a "child abduction alert system" which is with the DGSN and would allow the media to relay information on this type of situation to facilitate the search.

While the parents of little Adnane mourn their child, the investigations continue to determine the causes of this inhuman act. The vast majority of Moroccans demand that this crime be severely punished.
