Tangier Collects Over 7,000 Tons of Waste Following Eid al-Adha Celebrations

More than 7,000 tons of waste and household waste were collected during the Eid al-Adha period in Tangier.
Tangier was overwhelmed by garbage during the celebration of Eid al-Adha. The Feast of the Sacrifice of the Lamb generated waste and household waste. The collection operation launched with the two delegatees allowed the city to regain its pre-celebration beauty. 7,000 tons were therefore recovered in two days.
In Tangier-East, the amount of waste reached around 3,644 tons on the first day, before rising to about 5,000 tons on the 2nd. In Tangier-West, the quantity collected on the first day, which was 1,600 tons, increased to 2,000 tons on the 2nd.
To manage this weight of waste, 2,700 tons of sanitation products were used on site and under the collection trucks, the local authorities said, specifying that perfumed products were sprayed on these sites to preserve the cleanliness of the city.
This waste collection operation, in its technical, logistical and human aspects, was implemented on the basis of a proactive action plan carried out by all the stakeholders concerned, the same source points out.
