Suspected Belgian Terrorist Arrested in Germany During COVID Check

A suspected Belgian terrorist of Moroccan origin was arrested during a coronavirus-related check in the city of Trier, in western Germany, near the border with Luxembourg.
According to the German news site SWR Aktuell, and based on police information, the suspect, aged 51, is involved in the formation of a terrorist group in Morocco with the aim of carrying out attacks.
The suspected terrorist, internationally wanted since 2008, is expected to be extradited to Morocco.
Pending his extradition, he is incarcerated in a prison in Trier.
