Suspect in Fatal Stabbing of Ride-Share Driver Sent to Psychiatric Prison

The man who killed a VTC driver of Moroccan origin three days ago in Fuengirola, in the Malaga region, has been admitted to the psychiatric prison center in Seville.
The incident occurred on Thursday morning, when the man, in a psychotic crisis, requested a VTC (Bolt) and fatally stabbed the driver on board the vehicle, a man of Moroccan origin. According to the details of the investigation, the suspect had previously requested another VTC, but the driver, disturbed by his agitation, refused to transport him. After his act, the individual entrenched himself in the victim’s car, forcing several National Police patrols to intervene to subdue him.
The incident has caused great emotion among transport professionals. The Association of VTC Companies of Andalusia described this act as isolated and called for the implementation of measures to protect drivers, especially those working at night. In anticipation of the upcoming legal proceedings, the association announced its intention to join the case as a civil party.
