Suspect in Bordeaux Teen Murder Extradited from Morocco, Faces French Justice

Arrested in Ifrane, Morocco, then extradited to France, the alleged perpetrator of the murder of Nabil on May 3, 2024, at Place Ginette-Neveu, in the Aubiers district of Bordeaux, was indicted and placed in pre-trial detention on Friday.

The 22-year-old man, who killed an 18-year-old man with a knife in the Aubiers housing estate in Bordeaux on May 3 around 12:30 pm, will answer for his actions before French justice. That day, the blow was struck at the jugular. The blade pierced the heart and a lung. The victim succumbed to his injuries. A dispute that erupted between two young people from the Aubiers district, on Place Ginette-Neveu, known to be a place for drug dealing and transactions, is at the origin of this premeditated murder.

"According to the initial evidence gathered as part of this investigation, this homicide would have occurred against the backdrop of a conflict related to drug trafficking," states the Bordeaux prosecutor’s office in a press release. "The alleged perpetrator, a 22-year-old man, fled before the arrival of law enforcement. Investigations revealed that the suspect had quickly crossed the Spanish border." After the opening of a judicial investigation on May 7, 2024, for assassination, French authorities had issued an international arrest warrant against him.

The suspect was arrested on September 19, 2024, in Ifrane, Morocco, then extradited to France. "The Moroccan authorities granted his extradition by decree on March 14, 2025," specifies the prosecutor’s office. Presented to the investigating judge on Friday, May 16, the alleged perpetrator of Nabil’s murder was indicted for assassination, before being placed in pre-trial detention in accordance with the prosecutor’s requests, reports Sud Ouest.
