Suspect in Mimizan Nightclub Shooting Extradited from Morocco to France

The man suspected of shooting twice with a handgun at a club doorman in Mimizan, in May 2024, was arrested in Morocco, then extradited to France.
The events date back to May 18, 2024. That day, around 3 am, a resident of the Landes was turned away from a nightclub in Mimizan, reports Sud Ouest. Angry, he allegedly returned a few minutes later to confront the doorman. With a handgun in hand, he reportedly fired twice at him before fleeing directly south in his car.
The investigations (phone data, surveillance camera footage, and various cross-checks) allowed the gendarmes to identify a suspect. He had meanwhile crossed the border and was driving through Spain. Law enforcement discovered that he had settled in Morocco. An international arrest warrant was issued in early June 2024. The suspect was arrested and placed in pre-trial detention in Morocco. His extradition to France was effective in May 2025.
On Friday, this 35-year-old man known to judicial services - convicted several times for violence with a weapon - was presented to the investigating judge in Mont-de-Marsan. Following this meeting, he was "placed in pre-trial detention for attempted murder in Mimizan, in May 2024," confirms the Mont-de-Marsan prosecutor’s office. For now, investigations are continuing to elucidate this case.
