Suspect Arrested in Laâyoune for Alleged Kidnapping and Sexual Assault

A 28-year-old suspect with multiple criminal records was arrested yesterday, Saturday, in Laâyoune by the Judicial Police Prefectural Service. The accused would be involved in a case of kidnapping, rape, theft and indecent assault with violence.
According to the press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN), it all started with a complaint received by the Cell for the Care of Women Victims of Violence of the Laâyoune Police Headquarters. The victim claimed to have received three young girls and three of their acquaintances at her home, one of whom had previously sexually assaulted her.
According to her, these were individuals who were in a state of drunkenness, who assaulted and raped her, using violence, while filming their act to force her not to denounce them.
The DGSN press release specified that the investigations carried out on this case made it possible to identify all the accused and to arrest the main suspect who was placed in custody, at the disposal of the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office.
Furthermore, according to the same source, the security operations are continuing to arrest the other persons involved in this act.
