Suspect Arrested in Fatal Stabbing of Homeless Moroccan Man in Seville

The National Police arrested in Seville the alleged perpetrator of the murder of Mohamed, the Moroccan homeless man stabbed to death on May 4. The victim earned his living by helping vehicles park in a city parking lot.

The suspect was arrested at his home by National Police officers, police sources told Diario de Mallorca on Friday. The victim, in his thirties, who lived in an abandoned Volkswagen in the parking lot, was found lying in a pool of blood by a passer-by in a street in Seville.

Alerted, the police sent several patrols to the scene. Upon arrival, the agents urgently requested an ambulance to transport the Moroccan, who had received at least two stab wounds to the chest, to a hospital. But the young man died before the emergency services arrived. His body was transferred to the Seville Institute of Forensic Medicine for the autopsy.

The incident occurred during violent clashes that broke out on Saturday night in Magaluf. A young man of Romanian origin attacked Mohamed from behind before fleeing, leaving him unconscious and seriously injured. Mohamed was rushed to a medical center. According to several witnesses, the Moroccan hit his head when he fell to the ground after the attack. Doctors confirm that he received a violent blow to the head and that he "had a clot and a broken jaw".

"After two days, the clot grew and the doctors decided to operate on him urgently," adds Mohamed’s sister, assuring that "for the moment, he is more or less doing well, but remains under control." The aggressor of Mohamed, as well as ten people, including eight men and two women, were arrested that night. They were all released later. The investigation is ongoing.
