Suspect in Argenteuil Daylight Murder Captured in Spain While Fleeing to Morocco

While he was fleeing to Tangier (Morocco), a 22-year-old man was arrested in the port of Algeciras, at the southern tip of Spain, then placed in custody for the murder of his neighbor in broad daylight in Argenteuil in March.

End of the run for the 22-year-old man suspected of the murder of his neighbor in broad daylight on the night of Monday, March 11 to Tuesday, March 12 in Argenteuil (Val d’Oise). Targeted by a European arrest warrant issued by the French judicial authorities, he was arrested on September 22 in Spain. He "was in the port of Algeciras, at the southern tip of Spain, on his way to Tangier in Morocco," reports BFMTV. After his arrest, he was transferred to Madrid where he was incarcerated pending his extradition to France.

The facts for which the suspect was wanted date back to March 11, 2024. Around 1 a.m., on Rue de Montigny, his 33-year-old neighbor came out of his house to stop the noise caused by his vehicle, which the 22-year-old man did not appreciate. This will be followed by an altercation between the two men. Armed with a weapon, the suspect opens fire on his neighbor. The latter succumbs to his injuries about an hour later. After the incident, the young man flees.
