The Sunergia group, a market research firm, pioneer of marketing in Morocco and Africa, conducted a study on the use and perception of Moroccans on ChatGPT, a conversational robot, based on artificial intelligence (AI), developed by the American company OpenAI.
Do you think the use of ChatGPT and artificial intelligence is dangerous for humanity? According to 52% of Moroccans who know ChatGPT, this conversational AI is dangerous for humanity (including 30% who fully agree and 22% who rather agree), the survey reveals, specifying that this rate is higher among people aged 35 to 44 (76%), 45 to 54 (68%), as well as seniors over 65 (100%), who are the most concerned about the impacts of this technology.
ChatGPT was launched in November 2022 by the American company OpenAI. Since then, the conversational robot has sparked a vast controversy over its ethical implications and the threat it poses to humanity, to the point that experts are questioning the reasons that led OpenAI to develop this model, namely the creation of an ultra-intelligent AI computer that would surpass the parameters of the human brain.
In an open letter signed in March, technology experts, academics and renowned CEOs, such as Elon Musk, called on all AI labs to suspend for six months the development of AI systems more powerful than ChatGPT 4.
