Moroccan Summer Travel Plans Rise Despite Economic Challenges, Survey Shows

According to a recent survey by the Sunergia Group, nearly half of Moroccans (49%) plan to take a vacation this summer, up 3% from the previous year. Some of them will not be able to go on vacation this year.
Young people aged 18 to 24 seem to be the ones most eager to travel, with an intention rate of 55%. The well-off socio-professional categories A and B also have a lot of potential travelers, with 59% of them considering a vacation this summer.
Local destinations seem to be the preferred choice of potential vacationers, with 83% of people intending to travel preferring to stay in Morocco. Only 16% of those surveyed plan to cross borders for their summer trip. Men, as well as people aged 25 to 34 and 55 and over, are more inclined to travel abroad, while 4% of respondents did not express a preference.
The possibility of going on vacation seems less obvious for the disadvantaged socio-professional categories D and E. The study also reveals that 35% of people in these groups do not plan to travel this summer, a situation probably due to inflation and the increase in travel-related costs, such as airfare, catering and accommodation.
