Student Hospitalized in Fez After Phone Battery Explosion During Online Class

A student was admitted to the University Hospital Center of Fez following the explosion of the battery of his mobile phone that he was apparently using to follow distance learning courses.
The victim is pursuing his studies in the second year of the baccalaureate, life and earth sciences, at the Al Irfane high school, under the provincial directorate of education of Taza.
According to the Regional Academy of Education and Training (AREF) of Fez-Meknes, the University Hospital Center of Fez, contacted urgently, said it was willing to welcome the student to the ophthalmology department. The Minister of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research has also ordered that all measures be taken to ensure the safety of the student.
The same source specifies that at the request of the minister, the school insurance company has agreed to qualify the incident as an "exceptional" school accident and to cover the medical follow-up of the student, it is pointed out.
The Academy also states that it is in constant contact with the student’s family and is monitoring his health status.
