Struggling Sevilla Suffer Third Straight Setback as Almeria Stun Champions League Side

FC Seville is still without a win this season, after losing their match against Almeria (1-2) on Saturday. In three games, the club has recorded two losses and one draw. Not a very impressive performance for the coach, Julen Lopetegui, and for his Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou.
In this match against Almeria, Seville was brilliant in the first half and was the first to open the scoring with a goal from Óliver Torres in the 30th minute of play. But Almeria quickly equalized just before the end of this first half of the game thanks to a goal from Largie Ramazani in the 42nd minute. Upon resumption, Almeria took the lead with a second goal from Nigerian Umar Sadiq (55).
This second goal was devastating for Seville, which showed the fragility of its defense in the second half. The club lost two starting central defenders last year: Jules Koundé who joined Barcelona, and Diego Carlos now at Aston Villa. With this defeat, Seville is in fifteenth place in the standings with only one point.
Seville’s drop in performance had already been noted in the final stretch of last season. And since the start of this season, the club has not managed to win a single game in three games, sparking strong criticism towards Spanish coach Julen Lopetegui.
Next week, Seville will host Barcelona in La Liga, before facing Manchester City in the Champions League. Two decisive matches for the club that needs points to climb back up the standings.
