Moroccan Goalkeeper Bounou Saves Penalty, Secures Draw for Sevilla Against Valencia

Yassine Bounou is gradually regaining his level from last season when he won the Zamora Trophy in La Liga. The Moroccan goalkeeper of Sevilla FC saved his team on Tuesday by stopping a penalty during the match against Valencia FC.
Bounou saved José Luis Gayá’s penalty in the 102nd minute during the match against Valencia FC, allowing his team to obtain a draw (1-1). The Moroccan goalkeeper thus signs his eighth penalty save since he has been at Sevilla. On several occasions, his saves have been decisive for Sevilla, notably against Wolverhampton in the Europa League, against Betis, Alavés, Real Sociedad, Levante and Valencia in La Liga, and twice in the match against Red Bull Salzburg in the Champions League last season.
All of Bounou’s saves have allowed Sevilla to at least draw or win the match. "In the end, penalties are a matter of luck," said the Moroccan goalkeeper after the draw against Valencia, specifying that the team’s goal was to "win at home" to regain confidence after a difficult start to the season. "We didn’t start the game well, but we improved a lot in the second half," he added, assuring that Sevilla will "continue to grow and play better."
