Sevilla’s Star Goalkeeper Bounou Benched, Sparks Premier League Transfer Rumors

Yassine Bounou was not a starter in the match against Cádiz, which raises questions about his future at Seville. The Moroccan goalkeeper, who has saved the Seville team in the worst moments, could end up with the Wolves in the Premier League, a club led by his former coach, Julen Lopetegui.
Seville’s new coach, Mendilibar, preferred to put Dmitrovic in goal for the match against Cádiz, leaving Yassine Bounou on the bench. Winner of the Zamora trophy last year and considered one of the best goalkeepers in La Liga and Europe, the Moroccan goalkeeper, who has had good performances this season, received tempting offers from several big clubs during the January transfer window, recalls Viva Sevilla.
In addition to Bayern Munich, which clearly expressed its interest in Bounou, the Wolves, currently led by Lopetegui, also wanted to secure the services of the Moroccan international. The goalkeeper was contacted by his former coach at Seville who tried to convince him to join the English team. But Bounou rejected the two offers, preferring to continue the adventure with Seville, which was going through a bad patch.
Now, months later, Bounou, who has shone all season, finds himself on the bench with the arrival of Mendilibar. The slight drop in form of the Moroccan goalkeeper observed last month led the new coach to place more trust in Dmitrovic, whom he knows well, having been his coach elsewhere. Bounou’s situation at Seville is becoming worrying. Would he be on his way out?
