Spanish Zucchini Imports from Morocco Plummet 37% Since 2018

Spanish imports of Moroccan zucchini have fallen by -37.34%, from 13.07 million kilos in 2018 (January to November) to 8.19 million kilos over the same period in 2021.
Spain imported 13.07 million kilos of zucchini from Morocco for a value of 8.15 million euros in 2018, compared to 8.19 million kilos for a value of 7.06 million euros in 2021, reports Hortoinfo, however specifying that the purchase price of zucchini in Morocco has continued to increase over the period, going from 0.62 euros/kilo in 2018 to 0.86 euros/kilo in 2021.
Conversely, Spanish exports of zucchini increased by 24.5% over the same period, from 329.84 million kilos exported for a value of 282.47 million euros in 2018 to 410.68 million kilos exported for a value of 362.02 million euros in 2021.
The average export price of zucchini by Spain remained relatively stable, between 0.86 euros per kilo in 2018 and 0.88 euros per kilo in 2021, with variations from one year to the next.
