Spanish Teen Killed Defending Mother in Domestic Violence Attack

While she is still receiving care in the ICU, the latest clinical results are rather favorable for a woman named Gema, who was assaulted by her partner in Andorra (Teruel) on August 7.
According to the EFE agency, which obtained this information from sources close to the government, Gema, a 39-year-old woman, remains admitted to the Miguel Servet Hospital in the Aragonese capital, where she was transferred by helicopter due to the seriousness of the injuries she sustained.
At the origin of this painful event, the aggressor, of Moroccan origin, also murdered their son, under the age of 16, as he tried to protect his mother, then committed suicide by jumping out the window, reports the Spanish media El Periodico de Aragon.
The death of the young boy plunged the entire city into mourning. On Tuesday, August 13, 2019, a huge crowd, made up of members of the Santander corporation, workers and citizens, could be seen observing a minute of silence to pay tribute to the teenager.
Still in shock, the Santander City Council issued a statement in which it described this death as a "terrible" event that "only demonstrates the evil that some people could develop" and which, in this case, "leaves a mother in one of the worst possible situations".
