Moroccan Woman Escapes After Violent Sexual Assault in Barcelona’s Ciutat Vella District
A Moroccan woman was sexually assaulted by a 27-year-old man on Saturday, September 14, in the Ciutat Vella district. The aggressor forced the woman to go up to his apartment and began to abuse her, even though they had no relationship and did not even know each other.
According to the newspaper El Periódico, the suspect was identified after beating the woman in the street and was arrested.
According to the initial investigation, the man indicated is of Algerian nationality. He allegedly forced the Moroccan woman to go to his home and held her down to sexually assault her.
The victim’s captivity lasted until the next day around noon, when she managed to get out and attract the attention of a Mossos d’Esquadra patrol. They identified and arrested the aggressor, who is being prosecuted for kidnapping, sexual abuse and threats.
