Spanish Farm Director Accused of Sexually Assaulting Moroccan Seasonal Worker

A Moroccan seasonal worker in the Spanish strawberry fields was the victim of a sexual assault last Thursday by the director of a fruit and vegetable company in the town of Lucena del Puerto in Huelva.
According to the testimony of the Moroccan woman of 39 years old, broadcast on Facebook by a Spanish trade unionist, he is a repeat offender who had already been in the habit of harassing her since last year. Other seasonal workers had also been subjected to his harassment.
This time, the victim was unable to escape her attacker, she explained. Assaulted and then sexually assaulted, she was taken to the Juan Ramon Jimenez hospital for injuries to her arm and shoulder, in addition to blows to the lower abdomen.
After the closure of the borders, only 35% of the workers arrived in the agricultural fields. The Moroccan decision thus prevented nearly 6,000 seasonal workers from joining Spain, depriving the Spanish producers of 15% of the workforce.
