Spanish Police Seize 7 Tons of Hashish, Bust Major Drug Ring in Costa del Sol

This is a huge seizure that the Guarda civil has made. More than 7 tons of hashish were seized during an anti-drug operation. The Spanish National Police announced on Monday that in addition to the seizure, it has succeeded in dismantling one of the most active drug trafficking organizations in Andalusia, particularly in the Costa del Sol.
The head of the dismantled criminal organization, alias "El tomate", was also arrested, according to the police who, in a press release, are pleased with this catch.
According to Huffpost, it was since June that an investigation was initiated by the Spanish police who discovered the existence of this organization that was introducing into Spain, by sea, hashish grown and processed in Morocco.
A significant security system was put in place and made it possible to completely dismantle this organization, specifies the Civil Guard, in its press release.
In addition to the 6 tons of hashish, nearly 100,000 euros in cash, 1 firearm and 1 simulator, 3,000 liters of boat fuel, 12 cars, 2 motorcycles and other means useful for the preparation and distribution of the drug were seized in this operation.
Even if, according to the press release from the Spanish police, the organization has been completely dismantled, the investigation remains open in order to get hold of the heads of this cell, as well as its retailers and its major customers.
