Spanish-French Drug Ring Busted: 26 Arrested, Nearly 6 Tons of Hashish Seized

The Spanish Civil Guard, in coordination with the French Gendarmerie, successfully dismantled a criminal drug trafficking organization on Thursday, December 26. It was distributing large quantities of hashish from Malaga (southern Spain) to Paris and Marseille (France).
This joint operation led to the arrest of 26 alleged members of this network, including 18 in France, the Spanish Civil Guard said in a statement. They are accused of belonging to a criminal organization involved in vehicle theft and document forgery.
In addition, 5,950 kg of hashish from Morocco were seized. Five vehicles and 750,000 euros in cash were also seized during the 19 searches carried out in Paris, Marseille and the municipalities of Nerja, Marbella and Estepona (Malaga province).
A year ago, the Civil Guard had launched this investigation to dismantle a criminal organization specialized in drug trafficking in the province of Malaga, of which it had learned of the existence. It had put in place a significant security system that resulted in these arrests.
