Spanish Police Seize 93 Kilos of Marijuana and Hashish in High-Speed Drug Bust

A 35-year-old Moroccan was arrested on the A-1, near Valdorros (Burgos), in possession of 73 kilos of marijuana and 20 kilos of hashish, hidden in his car, which he was transporting to Belgium. He is being prosecuted for a presumed crime against public health.
The young man was arrested during an operation carried out as part of the Telos Plan against the trafficking of hashish from Morocco. He was transporting the drugs in a go-fast, said José Manuel González Garrido, the chief commander of the Civil Guard operations in Burgos. Residing in Belgium, the Moroccan was driving a van stolen in September 2022 in Valdemoro (Madrid), bearing false license plates. In addition to the crime against public health, he is also accused of the offenses of falsification of a public document and theft.
An investigation has been opened to obtain more information on the origin and destination of the drugs and to search for other people involved in this traffic. The government delegate of Castilla y León, Virginia Barcones, specified that the seized drugs have an estimated value of 660,000 euros. She also praised the efficiency of the Civil Guard of Burgos, whose agents arrested on Monday two men aged 40 and 21 with more than two kilos of cocaine hidden in a car.
