Spanish Police Seize Drug Boat in High-Speed Mediterranean Chase

The Spanish police, in coordination with customs, managed to seize a large quantity of drugs and arrest a gang of traffickers in a wild chase on the Mediterranean.
"Agents of the police and customs, in a joint operation, arrested five members of the gang who were on a boat loaded with drugs, after a high-speed chase at sea during which they tried to throw the drugs overboard," the Spanish police said in a statement. This operation began after the police helicopter spotted a 14-meter speedboat, equipped with two 300-horsepower engines, off Cartagena, loaded with drug packages.
This short chase at over 160 km in the Mediterranean lasted five hours. During the operation, the police seized two tons of hashish hidden in 66 packages that the gang intended to smuggle from Morocco to Valencia in Spain, the same source said.
