Spanish-French Police Bust Major Hashish Smuggling Ring at Border

Eight people were arrested in northern Spain as they were transporting a large quantity of hashish in a convoy of vehicles destined for France. The drug trafficking network was dismantled thanks to the joint operation carried out by the Guardia Civil and the French gendarmerie.
Spain is the main gateway for hashish into Europe. The latest anti-drug operation jointly carried out by the Guardia Civil and the French Gendarmerie, made it possible to discreetly track the members of the criminal organization. It was this surveillance of the criminal organization that allowed the two security forces to anticipate the drug convoy towards southern France. The goods from Andalusia were in a convoy of 6 cars.
After a high-speed chase in the heart of Canfranc, 8 traffickers were arrested. On them, the police found 72 kilos of hashish.
The eight drug traffickers were transferred to the Jaca court where the judge ordered their pre-trial detention without the possibility of bail.
