Major Drug Ring Busted: 7 Arrested in Spain-Morocco Hashish Trafficking Operation

Civil Guard agents, in coordination with the National Police and the Tax Administration, have dismantled a drug trafficking network. Seven people, mainly of Moroccan origin, were arrested and a large quantity of hashish was seized.
The police investigation began in October 2019, when the agents received information about a criminal organization whose members are of Moroccan and Spanish origin. The majority of its members resided in Madrid, although they regularly traveled to Malaga to operate, reports Estrella Digital. The traffickers have a vast network of contacts and customers to serve their interests.
After several unsuccessful attempts, a joint operation of the National Police, customs surveillance and the coast guard was set up to detect and control a suspicious boat that had been under surveillance for months. This operation led to the discovery that the vessel was carrying 31 cans of gasoline containing approximately 612 kilograms of hashish. Its two occupants were arrested. In the following days, five other members of the organization were also apprehended.
