Spanish Police Seize Drug-Smuggling Drones at Morocco-Ceuta Border

To circumvent the closure of the border between Ceuta and Morocco, Moroccan drug traffickers are using drones to introduce drugs into Spain. A new seizure was made by the Spanish Civil Guard on Monday.
The Civil Guard and the National Police of Ceuta carried out, on Monday, February 8, an operation against drug trafficking between Spain and Morocco using drones, which led to the arrest of one person and the seizure of many documents.
The joint operation between the two law enforcement agencies was launched following an investigation opened at the end of last summer after the discovery, on a mountain in Ceuta, of a drone containing drugs.
According to sources close to the investigation, the operation was carried out in various neighborhoods of the city, including the Príncipe neighborhood. The investigation is ongoing and other people could be arrested.
