Spanish Police Bust Drug Theft Ring: 18 Arrested, 43 Kilos of Hashish Seized

The Spanish police dismantled a criminal organization specialized in the theft of drugs from other traffickers for the purpose of resale in the cities of Alicante, Castellón and Murcia. In total, 18 people, including Moroccans, were arrested and 43 kilos of hashish seized.
The network, very active in Spain and Morocco, carried out violent thefts against other traffickers in Andalusia (Almería and Campo de Gibraltar) and then supplied the stolen drugs to other traffickers for resale, reports EFE. The head of the network, residing in the town of Crevillent (Alicante), led the retail sales operation in various municipalities in the province of Alicante.

Several members of the group laundered the money from this drug trafficking that they invested in the purchase of real estate and high-end vehicles abroad, according to police sources. About twenty searches carried out at the homes of the members of the network in the cities of Alicante, Crevillent, Elche, Cox, Sant Vicent del Raspeig, Torrevieja, Monforte del Cid, Murcia, Molina de Segura and Castellón, allowed the seizure of 51,850 euros in cash, a firearm, 43 kilos of hashish, about 400 grams of cocaine, marijuana, eight high-end vehicles, etc.

In total, 18 people of Spanish and Moroccan origin, aged 22 to 50, were arrested and made available to the investigating courts of the cities where they were apprehended. They will be prosecuted for the alleged crimes of drug trafficking, violent theft, money laundering and membership in a criminal organization.
