Spanish Man Confesses to Triple Murder Spree in Murcia, Including Shooting of Moroccan Victim

Carlos Patricio B. M., of Spanish origin, has admitted to killing the Moroccan Younes Bilal in Mazarrón (Murcia) last June. The murder weapon was found at his home.
The accused did not know Younes Bilal, who was his third victim in 2021. He is the author of a murder-suicide in El Palmar in January and the knife murder of a certain Kevin in Jumilla in May. Of Spanish origin, he was arrested as he was trying to flee after shooting the Moroccan several times with a firearm that was found at his home with other hunting rifles, reports La Opinion de Murcia.

Carlos Patricio, in custody since his arrest, should appear next Thursday before the Totana court in charge of the case. With his confession and the testimony of several people present at the time of the crime, the trial will be short, legal sources estimate, specifying that the defendant will no longer deny the facts, but will rather plead for a requalification of the facts (manslaughter instead of murder) and as light a sentence as possible.

In addition to the murder, Carlos Patricio will also be tried for an offense of illegal possession of weapons and for a hate crime. According to several witnesses, the defendant uttered various insults towards the "Moors" before fatally assaulting Younes Bilal. The Moroccan’s wife and the Association of Moroccan Immigrant Workers (ATIM) insist on this charge.
"We neither forget nor forgive," declared Sabah Yacoubi, the president of ATIM in the region, demanding "justice so that such crimes do not happen again". The fate of the defendant will be decided by a popular jury during a trial that could start in two years, the Provincial Court being currently very overwhelmed.
