Moroccan Man Shot Dead in Spain in Suspected Racist Attack

Younes Blal, a 39-year-old Moroccan, shot dead on Sunday in Mazarrón, was the victim of a racist crime, according to his wife Andrea, who says "it was not a settling of scores or anything else."
The alleged perpetrator of the crime, Carlos Patricio B., 52, killed the Moroccan, after expressing his hatred towards citizens of Maghrebi origin. "This man shouted: ’Death to the Arabs’ and then killed my husband for racist reasons. It was not premeditated because the two did not even know each other. He shot him three times because he hated Arabs," recounts Andrea, inconsolable.
The widow, originally from Seville, was not with her husband when the incident occurred. "I had gone shopping with my son and they called me to announce the news. When I arrived, I saw Younes lying on the ground," she explains to the Spanish website La Verdad. "I keep receiving condolence messages. People are saddened by the loss of my husband, whom they appreciated because he was a good man... The only thing I ask for is justice," confides Andrea.
